Who can join?

Membership is free for residents of the Cessnock Local Government Area or for people working or studying in the area. Proof of identity and current address is required.

Children under the age of sixteen need the signature of a parent or guardian.

Temporary residents and visitors can also join with limited borrowing rights but are required to pay a deposit. This deposit will be refunded when membership is resigned and there are no outstanding items.

  • Membership of the library is free.
  • Children under the age of sixteen need the signature of a parent or guardian.
  • Please read our Borrowing policies and our Customer Service Charter before before continuing.
  • After completing the online form you will be given an automatically generated membership number.
  • Immediate access to BorrowBox and Libby with your temporary number (three month expiry) and PIN/password.
  • Please visit Cessnock Library or Kurri Kurri Library to collect your Library card.
