Cessnock Waste Management Centre has reopened and is accepting green waste from residents affected by recent storms, free of charge. The site is operating with reduced network services. Anticipate some delays.
Council has received funding from Phase 4 of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program for Deakin Street Kurri Kurri, between Mitchell Avenue and Lonsdale Place. This section of Deakin Street has a poor pavement condition, a result of the age of the pavement and poor drainage conditions. The works will provide new pavement and improved drainage with the construction of kerb and gutter and additional stormwater infrastructure.

The renewal of this section of Deakin Street includes:
A Traffic Management Plan will be in place for the duration of the works with traffic control and a reduced speed limit during working hours.
Council has received $532,700 from the federal government under Phase 4 of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program. The project is jointly funded by Cessnock City Council contributions.
