Cessnock Woodturners Incorporated

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CLUB
Cessnock Woodturners Club was formed to promote the study, practice, art and craft of woodworking and associated crafts, and to promote fellowship through professional and social activities.
The club started as a sub branch of Newcastle Woodturners of the Hunter in 1994. By 1997 the membership of the Newcastle club soared and a number of Hunter towns formed their own clubs with the blessing of the Newcastle club.
Cessnock Woodturners Incorporated was incorporated on 18th April, 1997 under Associations Incorporation Act, 1984. It has adopted the Model-Rules for the Incorporations (as amended) according to the Associations Incorporations Act, 1984.
The club has a regular monthly meeting to discuss administrative matters including club' development and training techniques, and a monthly "Hands On" meeting during which demonstrations and workshop activities contribute to the development of wood working skills. The club also holds regular workshops and seminars. The club has its own library, an associated "shop" which sells minor wood working supplies to members at meetings. The club has technical advisors to help novices and learners and regular monthly club dinners and barbeques.

Woodworking is a pleasurable and productive hobby and being able to associate with like minded people increases our knowledge and skill levels. As a club member, you would have access to good machinery and the necessary tuition to use it safely and properly. The club meetings are held in our workshop facility in North Rothbury.
