Sydney Writers’ Festival Live and Local 2025 comes to Cessnock Library

Cessnock Library will host Sydney Writers' Festival Live & Local 2025, bringing the best of literature, ideas, and storytelling to the local community.

From Thursday 22 May to Saturday 24 May, people can experience the excitement and intellectual stimulation of the renowned festival without leaving Cessnock, as a selection of headline events are live-streamed at the library for free.

This year's festival brings together writers of spectacular fictions, moving words, captivating life stories, and sweeping accounts of history and ideas, ensuring a diverse program.

It will feature some of the world’s finest writers and thinkers, including Marcus Zusak, Gina Chick, Thomas Mayo, Liane Moriarty, Jaclyn Moriarty, Nicola Moriarty, Helen Garner, and Laureate for Irish Fiction Colm Tóibín.

Library Services Co-ordinator Rose-marie Walters said the event would be an engaging experience.

"We are incredibly excited to be hosting Sydney Writers' Festival Live & Local again in 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for our community to access world-class literary events right here in Cessnock," said Ms Walters.
