Recycle your old mattress: Free drop-off event in Cessnock

Cessnock City Council will host a free mattress drop-off event for residents later this month.

Residents are welcome to drop off their old mattresses and ensembles for re-use and recycle at the assigned location, at no cost.

Date: Saturday 22 February 2025

Time: 8am – 12 noon

Location: Mount View Basin, 197 Mount View Road, Cessnock

Cost: Free of charge

Cessnock City Mayor Daniel Watton expressed his enthusiasm at the initiative being brought back again.

"I’m really pleased that this opportunity is once again being offered to the local community, helping to keep our region clean and sustainable," said Clr Watton.

"Last year’s mattress drop-off was a tremendous success, garnering a huge response, with over 2,400 mattresses dropped off.

"No doubt it will be another fantastic turnout this year."

There is a maximum of four mattresses or bases allowed per resident.
