Polish Your Resume and Cover Letter with Expert Tips at Library

Cessnock City Council will host two resume and cover letter workshops for job seekers to help them stand out to prospective employers.

A clear, tailored, and professional resume and cover letter are crucial components of any job application.

These workshops will cover crucial topics such as addressing selection criteria, formatting resumes, how to write a compelling cover letter, what to include and exclude, and the essential ingredients of an effective cover letter. 

The workshops will take place on Thursday 8 August, with sessions running from 11-1pm and 2-4pm at Cessnock City Library.

Library Services Coordinator Rose-marie Walters highlighted the significance of providing these workshops to equip the local community with the necessary tools for successful job applications.

"We are committed to offering resources and opportunities that help our residents succeed in their job search and career development," said Ms Walters.

Cessnock City Council Mayor Jay Suvaal emphasised the importance of helping to foster employment opportunities for jobseekers within the Cessnock LGA.

"Providing workshops like these is essential to ensure our community members are equipped with the skills they need to secure meaningful employment."
