Learn how to live more sustainably while saving money
Published on 21 March 2025
Cessnock City Library is excited to host Lottie Dalziel – an award-winning sustainability expert, journalist, and podcaster – to discuss her new book '365+ Ways To Save The Planet And Your Money At The Same Time'.
The free event, which will focus on eco-friendly living on a budget and involve practical tips and insights, will take place from 10.30am until 11.30am on Saturday, 12 April 2025.
Dalziel is a former NSW Young Australian of the Year, and a prominent figure in the sustainability field. She has delivered a TEDx talk on community and climate change, is recognised as one of Australia’s top 50 in e-commerce, and has featured in Asia’s Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
In 2020 she founded the Banish Recycling and Diversion program (BRAD), which collects difficult-to-recycle household items such as bottle tops, blister packs, and beauty products and takes them to trusted micro-recyclers.
Her new book dispels the myth that sustainable living is costly and out-of-reach, and provides a wealth of ideas on how people can make a positive difference for our planet while saving money.
Library Services Co-ordinator Rose-marie Walters said it was a delight to be hosting Dalziel at Cessnock City Library.
"Her approach to sustainable living is practical and inspiring. She demonstrates that even small changes can make a significant difference, both for the environment and our wallets.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for our community to learn valuable skills and contribute to a more sustainable future."
Dalziel will also have a BRAD mega box at the event - attendees can bring up to 2kg of plastic waste for recycling.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a leading sustainability expert and take steps towards a more eco-friendly and cost-effective lifestyle.
