Last Chance to Nominate for our 2025 Australia Day Awards!

Cessnock City Council invites members of the community to celebrate our local heroes by nominating them for the 2025 Australia Day Awards. This prestigious event recognises individuals and groups who have made remarkable contributions to the local community over the past year and beyond.
Residents are encouraged to nominate fellow citizens and organisations in the following categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Senior Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Young Female Achiever
- Community Event of the Year
- Sports Award, Environment Award
- Young Citizen Environment Award
- Heritage Award
- Community Award
Cessnock City Mayor Daniel Watton encourages residents to nominate someone they think should be recognised this year.
“This is your last chance to submit a nomination for the upcoming Australia Day Awards before entries close in less than a week,” said Clr Watton.
“I encourage residents to take this opportunity to recognise outstanding individuals and groups within the community.”
“They really deserve the spotlight!”
The winners will be announced on Australia Day 2025 at Performance Arts Culture Centre Cessnock.
