Cessnock City Council invites the community to come together for an essential keynote address by celebrated speaker Jas Rawlinson at the Performing Arts and Cultural Centre (PACC), on Wednesday 27 November, from 10.30am – 12pm.

The address ‘Shame to Strength: A Community Conversation to Empower,’ is held during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gendered Violence and will address topics such as detecting the red flags of coercive control, asserting your boundaries, and reclaiming your individual story.

Celebrated keynote speaker, best-selling author and advocacy coach, Jas Rawlinson is renowned for her commitment to empowering individuals and communities to recognise the signs of domestic violence.

Cessnock City Mayor Dan Watton says it’s crucial to engage in these important conversations to help everyone recognise the signs of domestic violence.

"We must come together as a community to stand against domestic violence. It’s time to ensure that everyone knows they are not alone in this fight," said Clr Watton.

"By engaging in conversations about domestic violence, we break the silence and empower those who need our support."

The project has been part funded by ClubGRANTS and is free to attend.

Bookings are essential and can be made by visiting this link or by calling Cessnock Library on 4993 4399 or Kurri Kurri Library on 4937 1638.
