Five hundred dollars worth of prizes are on offer, as Cessnock City Council’s Support Local campaign kicks off for February with a focus on businesses that make gift-giving so much sweeter.
Community members can win a $50 voucher, redeemable at a local business, if they highlight their favourite place to spoil a loved one in the Cessnock LGA, whether that’s with flowers, chocolate, jewellery, perfume, or something more unique.
There are 10 vouchers up for grabs – one each from:
- Donarch Fine Chocolate
- Bloomin Sweet Florist Cessnock
- Mae + Co
- Dear Petal Hunter Valley - Branxton Florist
- Country Charm Gift Gallery
- Beautiful Blooms of Kurri
- Wally and Eva
- Balloon Worx
- Prop That! Hunter Valley - Gifts & Homewares
- Bluebird Florist Hunter Valley
To enter, snap a picture of the local business you want to support and post it on Facebook, and either tag it or mention its name, including the hashtag #SupportLocalCessnock.
Enter as many times as you like - the more entries, the greater your chances of winning.
Cessnock City Mayor Dan Watton said February was a great time to shine the spotlight on some of the best local businesses specialising in gifts, particularly as Valentine’s Day approaches.
"There are so many hard working and enterprising people in our community who create wonderful products," said Clr Watton.
"The Support Local campaign is a win all-around – spoil your nearest and dearest, give some deserved praise to one of our many stellar businesses, and you could be rewarded with a $50 voucher."
Entries close on 28 February 2025. Winners will be announced 3 March 2025.
