This holiday season, Cessnock City Council has teamed up with Storytowns Audio Guides to offer families a festive and fun-filled treat with two free Christmas scavenger hunts in Cessnock and Kurri Kurri. The adventure titled "Rudolph Has Lost His Friends", invites participants to join Rudolph in a heart-warming quest to reunite with his lost reindeer friends.

Designed to be both entertaining and immersive, this unique audio-guided experience encourages participants to explore both local landmarks, all while supporting the area’s businesses by promoting local shops.

Additionally, as families follow audio clues across town to track Rudolph’s lost reindeer friends, each reindeer found brings them closer to the chance to win fantastic prizes!

Each week until the 30 December 2024, two ‘Snack Pack’ hampers from Shop Hunter Valley are up for grabs – one prize for each location in Cessnock and Kurri Kurri.

Winners will be contacted via email and announced on Advance Greater Cessnock’s Facebook page each Monday at 10am on the following dates:

  • 16 December
  • 23 December
  • 30 December

Cessnock City Mayor Dan Watton shared his excitement about the local immersive experience.

"Not only does this free scavenger hunt help to promote local businesses, but it motivates people to get outside and explore the charm of our wonderful local towns," said Clr Watton.

"I encourage families to join the festive fun and make lasting memories!"

Storytowns founder Jarrod Pickford said the scavenger hunt is a much-loved holiday season experience.

"The Christmas Hunt is really popular! All the feedback we get from kids and families is really positive," said Mr Pickford.

"Plus, it’s free and fun!"
