Cessnock City Libraries announce October school holiday program

Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Libraries will host a vibrant school holiday program this October school holidays, packed with an array of engaging events designed to spark creativity and foster a love for learning among children, tweens and teens.
For children aged 5 to 12, the program features a variety of fun-filled activities including:
- Felt finger puppet making sessions.
- Crafting musical instruments from recycled materials.
- Diving into the prehistoric world with exciting Jurassic Egg Dioramas and the interactive ‘My Pet Dinosaur’ show.
- ‘Sensory Storytime’ for children of all abilities, blending crafts and storytelling in an inviting and calm environment.
Teens aged 11 to 18 can look forward to an entertaining and educational line up, including:
- The highly anticipated ‘Haunted Library’ experience, where participants will join two real life local paranormal investigators and share spooky tales in a safe and fun atmosphere, just in time for Halloween!
- Creative hands-on crochet and felt art workshops.
- Pet portrait painting sessions.
- Adventurous Dungeons and Dragons sessions.
Library Services Coordinator Rose-marie Walters shared her excitement about the upcoming program’s diverse offerings.
"Whether through artistry, storytelling, or interactive adventures, this school holiday program at Cessnock City Library promises to create unforgettable memories for our community’s youth," said Ms Walters.
