Cessnock City Library is hosting an exciting exhibit from local artist Tessa Morrison for a short time only!

Hunter Artist and author Tessa Morrison has designed and handcrafted a collection of enamel necklaces that depict the character and story of 16 of Shakespeare’s female characters.

This stunning exhibition and accompanying book bring alive the textural imagery of Shakespeare.

Tessa Morrison will also be visiting the library to discuss the characterisation of the women she has depicted in these necklaces, and how enamel lends itself to storytelling.

Tessa will talk through her inspiration, explain the techniques used to create her enamel necklaces, and how she translated Shakespeare's textual imagery into visual imagery for each woman.

  • What: Bejewelling Shakespeare’s Women: talk with artist and author Tessa Morrison
  • When: Thursday 10 August 2023, 5.30-6.30pm
