Cessnock City Council has announced the reopening of the Cessnock Waste Management Centre to the public this Friday 1 May. Residents who wish to attend the facility must make a booking via the Customer Relations Team before they arrive.
Council’s General Manager Lotta Jackson thanked residents for their patience during the closure.
“We understand that it has been difficult and frustrating for people who have wanted to use the Cessnock Waste Management Centre over the last few weeks.”
Council closed the facility on Friday 3 April after receiving advice from NSW Health.
“We are now in the position where we can open the facility with some additional measures to ensure the safety of staff and customers. The booking system will ensure only a certain number of people are on site at one time. Customers at the facility will be expected to adhere to social distancing and follow the instructions of staff. We thank residents for their cooperation and adhering to the safety measures.
Council’s Customer Contact Centre are now taking bookings via phone on (02) 4993 4100. For more information on the Centre visit Council’s website.
