Acceptance of AUS-SPEC Specifications

Read the terms and conditions of use of AUS-SPEC publications carefully. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge your acceptance and compliance with the conditions outlined below.

  1. Copyright and Licensing
    • NATSPEC retains copyright of all AUS-SPEC material.
    • Cessnock City Council grants a non-exclusive licence to the end user for the use of its edited version of AUS-SPEC Specifications, hereafter referred to as "AUS-SPEC."
  2. Permitted Use
    • AUS-SPEC shall only be used for works where Cessnock City Council is the consent authority, owner, operator, or manager of assets, or a consultant to the same.
    • The end user is not permitted to copy, modify, or distribute AUS-SPEC documents without prior written permission.
  3. End User Responsibility
    • The end user is responsible for the correct application of AUS-SPEC.
    • The end user acknowledges that NATSPEC and Cessnock City Council have no control over, and cannot influence, the circumstances in which AUS-SPEC may be used.
    • The end user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless NATSPEC and Cessnock City Council against all actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands, costs, or losses arising from the use of AUS-SPEC.
  4. Modification of Specifications
    • Designers requiring modifications to an AUS-SPEC-based specification must become AUS-SPEC Subscribers. Become a subscriber at the NATSPEC website.
    • Breach of copyright may be interpreted by courts as creating an illegal specification, which may render it invalid. To become a subscriber, visit the NATSPEC website.
  5. This licence is personal and non-transferable. The end user shall not permit any other person to use or access AUS-SPEC.
  6. This agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
  7. By using AUS-SPEC, the end user is deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
