Dan Watton, elected Mayor of Cessnock, is excited to continue his service to the community after a successful first term as a Ward C Councillor. With a blend of business and community-focused experience, Dan is passionate about fostering growth and opportunity for all residents. He has had the privilege of seeing firsthand the strength and resilience of our residents throughout his time as a Councillor, and is excited to build on that as we work together for a brighter future.

As the owner of Four Doors Services since 2021, Dan has dedicated his work to helping individuals who have experienced barriers to acquire the skills they need to find and maintain meaningful employment. His 15+ years of experience in senior case management, allied health and business management have equipped him with a strong foundation to lead both in a professional setting and within the community.

Family is central to Dan’s life. He has been married to his wife Courtney for 18 years, and they share five children – Isabella, Isaiah, Chloe, Holly and Josh. His family fuels his dedication to creating a community where everyone can succeed. A lover of all sports, he enjoys basketball, tennis, and many other outdoor activities in his free time. He believes that sport plays an important role in regional communities, bringing people together and strengthening our ties to one another.

As Mayor, Dan is committed to building on his work as Councillor, focusing on empowering residents and ensuring that Cessnock LGA thrives as a supportive, connected, and growing community.
